About the Lake

Lake Catherine is your lake for the week — private, exclusive, and loaded with big carp. No day ticket crowds. No other anglers. Just four mates and some of the finest fish in Northern France.
Pegs one to four, along with cabins and Sheltered Terrace, are conveniently situated in a sociable area. The 2 Cabins offer facilities such as shower and toilet and full kitchen, positioned side by side for easy access. Furthermore, vehicles can be driven right to the Cabin area, ensuring convenience for transportation and gear management.
Covering a water surface area of 4.5 acres, Lake Catherine boasts a unique rectangular horseshoe-like shape, providing accessible water on both the left and right sides. With a far bank approximately 135 yards away, anglers can enjoy the challenge of long-distance casting or use of bait boats. The lake features an average depth of 6 feet, multiple plateaus up to 3 feet, and a diverse lake bed consisting of gravel, silt, and clay, catering to the preferences of various anglers. The lake's accessible perimeter allows for easy baiting of spots from all directions.
To ensure security, the perimeter of Lake Catherine is fenced, and large CCTV covered gates are in place for convenient entry and exit.
For added convenience, amenities such as supermarkets, bakeries, restaurants, and tobacco/bars are located within a short 5-minute drive from the venue, ensuring that essential supplies and dining options are readily accessible.

Reaching Lake Catherine in Northern France is a straightforward journey, with a convenient 2-hour and 20-minute drive from the Port of Calais.
To get there, you'll start by joining the A26 road towards 'Arras.' The majority of the 150-mile journey is spent on this toll road, which costs 27 Euros for a car. After covering this distance, you'll take junction 13 for Laon, bringing you just 20 miles away from the lake.
Lake Catherine is located in Pernant, Hauts-De-France, Aisne, France, offering a picturesque setting for your fishing adventure.
A short 5-minute drive from the lake will take you to the vibrant town of Soissons. This bustling town has a wealth of attractions to explore, including bars, restaurants, shops, supermarkets, and various amenities for entertainment. Soissons is rich in history, with notable landmarks like the 'Vase de Soissons,' a precious artifact dating back to 486. A magnificent memorial dedicated to this historic event is prominently displayed near the town centre, serving as a reminder of Soissons' cultural significance.
In summary, reaching Lake Catherine from the Port of Calais is a smooth journey, mainly on the A26 toll road. Once there, you can enjoy the natural beauty of Pernant and indulge in the lively atmosphere and historical charm of nearby Soissons.
The Stock
The Fish That Keep You Coming Back
Lake Catherine holds an exceptional and well-established head of carp that have been growing in these waters for over three decades. The original 1991 stocking has been supplemented over the years with significant introductions of Mirror, Common, and Linear carp — and the results speak for themselves.
The lake record currently stands at 69lb 12oz, with multiple fish confirmed in the 60lb+ bracket in the 2024–2026 seasons alone — including Bangers (63lb), Mia (62lb), Reiss (60lb 2oz) and The Mug (57lb 3oz). With fish continuing to grow year on year, a new personal best is always on the cards.
Every fish is individually registered, photographed and tracked — so you can check the full stock list, including each fish's maximum weight and most recent catch date, before you even pack your rods.

1991, 30 Carp were introduced ranging from 15lb to 20lb and 70 20lb to 30lb in weight.

November 2017, the previous owners stocked fish consisting of 120 Mirror, Common, and Grass Carp, weighing between 15lb and 40lb 4oz.

March 2018, 49 Mirror, Common, and Linear Carp to their new home, with weights ranging from 23lb to an impressive 58lb 8oz.
Throughout our work on the lake, we have witnessed numerous large Carp creating a stir during the day. We are confident that our guests can expect some exciting surprises in the upcoming season.
