Lake Rules

Our rules exist to protect the fish and to make sure every group that visits Lake Catherine has the best possible week. They are not negotiable, but they're also not complicated. Please read through before your visit, and get in touch if you have any questions in advance.

ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE

  • Arrival time: 1pm Saturday afternoon.

  • Departure time: no later than 10am the following Saturday.

SITE & SECURITY

  • The gate must be kept locked at all times.

  • No fires.

  • Do not disturb wildlife or cut down trees and bushes.

TACKLE & RODS

  • Maximum of 3 rods per angler.

  • Rods must not be left unattended at any time.

  • No braided mainline or leaders of any kind.

  • Hook length must break before mainline — maximum breaking strain 15lb.

  • Micro barb hooks only.

  • Drop-off systems only — no fixed rigs. This is for the welfare of the fish.

  • Bait boats are permitted. When using the boat provided, ensure you are clear of your lines before engaging the outboard.

BAIT

  • No nuts, plastic baits or self-prepared particles.

FISH CARE

  • Weigh slings, landing nets and cradles are provided on site — please leave yours at home to prevent the transfer of invasive species.

  • No fish to be lifted from the water in a net. Place a sling underneath first.

  • Klinik or similar antiseptic must be applied before returning any fish.

  • Carp sacks are not permitted on site.

  • Fish over 50lb must be weighed and photographed in the water — do not bank these fish. Bring your waders.

  • The minimum standard of fish care expected is demonstrated in the Korda video below.

  • Have fun.

If you're unsure about any of the above before you arrive, drop us a message, we'd rather answer questions in advance than have an issue on the bank.
